Radiograph Submission
PennHIP will accept conventional radiographs or digital radiographic images.
PennHIP will only evaluate radiographs submitted by a certified member or a "trainee" submitting his or her certification exercises.
Conventional Radiographs
Send conventional radiographs to the PennHIP Analysis Center at the following address:
PennHIP
3800 Spruce Street
Room 115, Rosenthal Building
Philadelphia, PA 19104
USA
We strongly encourage you to send radiographs by some traceable means – e.g. certified mail, FedEx, UPS, or other reliable carrier.
Digital Radiographs
Internet
PennHIP is working with Antech Imaging Services (formerly DarkHorse Medical Ventures), a teleradiology firm. Digital images can be sent to PennHIP through Antech's website.
For more information about sending images electronically, contact AIS at
877-727-6800 within the USA
or
(949) 752-5612 ext: 3453 outside the USA
Or by email at info@antechimagingservices.com. Click here to visit their website.

Compact Disk
You can also send images to us on a CD.
All images must be in DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) format. DICOM image files have a “.dcm” file extension. We are unable to accept any other format (for example JPEG, GIF, TIFF, etc.). Save the hip-extended, compression and distraction views onto a CD, and mail it along with the Radiograph Evaluation Application, to the PennHIP Analysis Center.
It is important that you copy only the images to the CD. Many digital systems also copy a proprietary “viewer” onto the CD by default. Please do not include the viewer on the CD. Doing so can make it difficult to locate the images on the disk and will increase the time it takes to evaluate the images and issue a report. Contact the technical support department of the company you purchased the system from and ask them how to copy images without the viewer.
