9. What type of fluid is most likely present in these alveoli?
Exudate The pink staining of this fluid suggests high protein content, as is the case in exudates. Transudates have low protein content.
This is a case of pulmonary edema due to toxin inhalation. Note also the dilated alveolar septa and vascular congestion.
