This site was established in order to present information on swine welfare husbandry and alternative swine production techniques. Information contained here was obtained from various educational sources and is presented for educational purposes only. These sources can be found on the "Additional Resources" page.

 The goal of this site is to present the many aspects of swine production, including traditional swine production practices as well as alternative methods that put animal welfare at the forefront; but would like to objectively show that better animal welfare can also yield a better animal faming product.

This site is to serve anyone interested in swine production, husbandry and welfare issues, and is not designed to express the opinions or positions of the University of Pennsylvania, the School of Veterinary Medicine or the faculty and staff of the Swine Unit.
